2019's Ready Or Not was a gleefully nasty action/horror/comedy in which newlywed Grace (Samara Weaving) was ritually hunted in a game of hide & seek by her new husband's family. The final act twist was that the ritual was genuinely supernatural and their failure to kill Grace meant the entire bloodline exploded in a fountain of gore at the displeasure of 'Mr Le Bail', who was implied to be Satan Himself.

This sequel follows directly on, with the other 'High Families' who secretly run the world forced to hunt again in order to retain control. Whichever family head successfully kills Grace - and now, thanks to what I can only describe as reasons - her estranged sister, Faith (Kathryn Newton) will take the High Seat and control all.

So, this is a retread of the original, played out over a wider area and with the supervision of more-evil-than-usual lawyer, Elijah Wood.

It is good fun.Sarah Michelle Geller and The Pitt's Shawn Hatosy stand out as a pair of wicked siblings who are able to work together after murdering their father (a neat cameo from David Cronenberg) and Samara Weaving continues to be an S-tier scream queen. That is probably it for the franchise, however, as returns are definitely beginning to diminish on this one.
