A solid attempt at a slow-burn, grown-up crime drama in the Heat vein that never quite clicks into the high gear it needs to.

Chris Hemsworth plays Mike (or is it James?) a super-careful thief who plans his solo heists to perfection to both conceal all evidence of his involvement (the opening scene is just him brushing dead skin cells from his body in order to fox a forensic sweep) and ensure that nobody ever gets killed.

That kind of meticulous planning makes him a tad slow for his fence (Nick Nolte) who asks unstable biker thug Barry Keoghan to shadow him during the planning phase of a big score, then swoop in and take the prize.

Mark Ruffalo plays a detective who has been on 'Mike's trail for years and Halle Berry an insurance broker whom Mike sees as a good insider for his upcoming One Last Job.

There are few twists on offer here but Hemsworth is excellent as the conflicted and insecure thief, Keoghan can do 'nutter' in his sleep and everyone else does their bit just fine. Not a genre-changer but nice to see a non-franchise thriller with a little meat on its bones.
